A key point in Transcendentalism is that Nature is definitively good. How is this statement is justified in Walden? Is nature ever dreadful in Walden?

Walden uses very descriptive language while talking about the nature around walden pond. He emphasizes how important one's connection with nature is and how this connection will allow one to become more in tune with the ''over soul". There is not really any "dreadful" descriptions of nature in Walden. One could say that the war between the ants was not the prettiest seen but it showed the importance of survival in nature.

Thoreau is at Walden pond for a very long time and seems to describe each season in great depth. What does Thoreau use the seasons as a symbol of? What can they tell use about nature?

Also, remember the description of winter. Many people describe winter as a time when all the world is "dead" and can potentially be very dreary. Thoreau's is not. Why?
