Thoreau describes how humans cannot fully comprehend nature, though also notes that humans want nature to be unfathomable, and wish nature to always have an element of mystery. Do y’all agree with this, and think we as humans today don’t actually want to know everything, but rather always have something left to discover?
I agree, I believe that humans don’t want to discover everything, and still want to believe that there is more for them to learn. Humans find some sort of comfort in knowing that there are always more mysteries to solve.
I believe that all humans have a desire to attain more and more knowledge, like the transcendental idea of self improvement. But I dont think humans want to know everything because then life would be dull & boring
People most definitely relish in the mysterious. As humans, we like to think that there is more out there than what we know. We want to know that our search for knowledge can continue and never be halted to an end. I personally know that I am fascinated by the unexplained.
Similiar to the transcendentalist idea, I agree that humans are always looking to improve. Climbing for the unattainable allows for mystery and continual self improvement in ones life.
